Privacy Policy

1. Overview

MetriqLab ("we," "us," or "MetriqLab") provides creator analytics software that lets businesses and the creators they work with connect social media accounts and view performance metrics. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to metriqlab.dev and our API.

2. Data We Collect

Account data. When you sign up, we store your email address and account identifier through our authentication provider (Clerk).

TikTok data. When a creator authorizes a connection through TikTok's official Login Kit, we receive and store only the data covered by the permissions the creator explicitly grants:

  • Profile information — display name, avatar, bio, and open ID
  • Account statistics — follower count, following count, likes, and video count
  • Video data — titles, thumbnails, view/like/comment/share counts, and publish dates
  • OAuth tokens — access and refresh tokens used to call TikTok on the creator's behalf

We never receive a creator's TikTok password and we only request the minimum scopes needed to display these metrics.

3. How We Use Data

TikTok data is used solely to display analytics back to the creator and to the business or agency that the creator has explicitly authorized to view their data. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use TikTok data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the analytics features described here.

4. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database (Neon) and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). OAuth tokens are stored securely and used only to make authorized requests to TikTok. Access to stored data is restricted to the authorized business account and our administrators.

5. Revoking Access & Deleting Data

Creators and businesses can disconnect a connected account at any time. When an account is disconnected:

  • We immediately revoke MetriqLab's authorization with TikTok, so our access ends.
  • We delete the stored profile, statistics, video data, and OAuth tokens for that account.

Creators may also revoke MetriqLab's access directly from their TikTok account settings under "Manage app permissions." To request deletion of all data associated with your account, email privacy@metriqlab.dev.

6. Data Sharing

We share TikTok data only with the specific business account that the creator authorized. We use trusted infrastructure providers (Clerk for authentication, Neon for database hosting, Vercel for application hosting) strictly to operate the service. We do not share data with any other third parties except as required by law.

7. Compliance with TikTok Policies

Our use of information received from TikTok APIs adheres to the TikTok Developer Terms of Service and TikTok's Platform policies, including their limited-use requirements.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
